In the Gran Final between Tigres and Club America, the Argentine was sent off in the 95th minute of the match, but opted not to head to the tunnel to end his day. Instead, he hilariously pulled a maneuver to somehow end up hiding behind the net, underneath a tarp, with the cameras catching him watching the end of the contest.

Over the two legs of the , America took all the glory 4-1 on aggregate, but it wasn't until Guzman's sending off that the goals arrived. The 2023 champions scored twice after the Argentine's red card, making the score look awfully different in full-time than the reality of it all. Guzman's hilarious antics weren't the first time he has made headlines for shenanigans in 2023, however, with the Argentine performing 'magic tricks' in goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Leagues Cup.
