Throughout the summer transfer window Liverpool’s activity was front and centre of the news pages.

Jurgen Klopp recruited Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and goalkeeper Alisson, while Naby Keita finalised his move from RB Leipzig.

However, there was one rumoured target that never came through the welcome gates at Anfield, and that was Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir.

Since Philippe Coutinho left the Merseyside outfit for Barcelona in January, Liverpool have not brought in a replacement.

It was widely thought that Fekir would be the one to fill the Coutinho void, but concerns over an underlying knee problem forced the Reds to withdraw their pursuit.

So far this season the midfielder has made eight appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and creating as many assists.

According to Kicker, German giants Bayern Munich have been impressed by the 25-year-old’s displays.

The report claims that the club’s chief scour Laurent Busser went to Lyon at the start of October to take a closer look at Fekir.
