Loads of Rangers fans have been reacting to a huge transfer story, as reports claims Steven Gerrard will go back in for Martin Skrtel.

According to CNN in Turkey (via Daily Record), Gerrard has not given up on Skrtel, who he wanted to sign this summer.

The 33 year-old will be out of contract next summer, and Fenerbahce are reportedly eyeing a deal for Liverpool’s Joel Matip.

This could clear the way for Skrtel to leave for a nominal fee in January, or even for free at the end of the season.

Gerrard was of course hugely critical of his defence after the calamitous loss to Spartak Moscow, but fans don’t seem too convinced by the interest in Skrtel.

The 101-cap Slovakian is a great defender and he loves getting on the scoresheet from set pieces, but he certainly has a mistake or two in him.
