Second-half substitute Iliman Ndiaye sealed the fate of the game in stoppage time as he scored following a pass from Mane to maintain his team's 100% win record in the group stage.

In the 56th minute, he missed the easiest of chances to break the deadlock but failed to keep his shot on target in an empty goal. He did score a goal towards the end of the game but it was ruled out due to offside.

The Kalidou Koulibaly-led side will head into the knockout stage with an 100% record and are set to play their round of 16 match on January 29. Guinea too made it to the next round, despite the defeat, qualifying as one the best third-ranked teams.
